..............--- Garmin Oregon 650 Mount ---
I had bought a Garmin Oregon 650 to use while riding the Suzuki DR200 on the trails around home (SE Utah), but wanted to also use in on the V-Strom 650 for road trips. On the smaller Suzuki dual sport I just had it held on the handlebar cross piece with bungee cords. I wanted something better for both bikes so first made the mount shown below and then a version of it for the 200.
The pictures below are pretty self-explanatory so I'll let them speak for the build. If you have other questions e-mail me at contact20 (at) purplesagetradingpost (dot) com and put Garmin 650 mount in the subject line.
One could cut this out with a saw. I have the mill so I used it.

You do want a tight fit so that it mounts securely. Just take the time to get one and bevel the edges so that the Garmin slides on easily. You will find if you take your time on the fit that the Garmin will be securely attached to the mount.
It is the part under the bottom of the Garmin mounting clip that holds it secure. The part above where it passes on the sides of the clip help to position it vertically in the mount.
For some reason Garmin designed the clip so that you have to remove it to plug the USB cord into it. I never liked that so clearanced a small part of the bottom of the clip mount so that you no longer need to remove the clip. I needed to do that as I wanted to have the Garmin plugged in on the bike so that it always has a charge.
Handlebar mount.

The mount clamps securely to the handlebar as the spacers allow it to be squeezed to some degree by the two 1/4" bolts.
All the pieces minus the 1/4" and #10 bolts and screws.

A marine outdoor 12 volt outlet mounted under the seat.
USB cable was fished under the bodywork from under the seat.

We used the Garmin on the trip to Vail and back and it worked fine and I liked it but do find it harder to use than the Tom-Tom GPS we use in the car. Still it is a good upgrade for the bike and we will use it on future trips. It is secure while underway and easy to slide out of the mount and take in the motel room at night.
