--- Garmin Oregon 650 Handlebar Mount ---

I bought a Garmin Oregon 650 to use while riding the DR200 on the trails around home (SE Utah). I started with it held on the handlebar cross piece with bungee cords. Also wanted a mount for the Garmin for the Suzuki 650 V-Strom we use for trips so designed and made one for it. Then I took the same basic concept and made one for the smaller Suzuki DR200 as shown below.

One could cut this out with a saw. I have the mill so I used it.

You do want a tight fit so that it mounts securely. Just take the time to get one and bevel the edges so that the Garmin slides on easily. You will find if you take your time on the fit that the Garmin will be securely attached to the mount.

On the V-Strom I put a 12 volt outlet under the seat and ran a USB power cord from it to the Garmin, keeping the cord under the tank and bodywork. I did that because we are on the bike all day and didn't want the Garmin to go dead. I could also do that on the DR200 but since I use it at home and usually only ride for 2-4 hours on trails here won't run a power cord. At least for now, but I could add it at any time since the mount is setup to allow one to be plugged into the Garmin.

Above the mount has been attached to the handlebar with the two U-Bolts.

I've taken a couple rides with the Garmin and it stay securely attache and has worked well in this position for me. It also easily slides out if I need to do that on the trail and at home I take it out to recharge it and download the route if I want to.
