…..........................--- Easy Way to Glue Ties to Turnout ---
=========================================
A couple years ago I designed a fixture, shown ( HERE ) and print files ( HERE ), to hold individual ties under a code 55 or 70 #6 turnout that was laid in a Fast Track's fixture or using their paper template. The fixture worked great but I didn't have good luck with the gluing part of the operation. I'd get it done but didn't look forward to doing it.
I was using Pliobond and then CA glue. Liked the CA better, I find it less messy to work with. Sill I didn't have a gluing sequence that I liked as shown below. Also shown below is what I've come up with. Faster and easier to do and I finally don't dread gluing the ties on.

Of note a bag of 1000 ties as I write this (July 2023) from Fast Tracks cost $21.95 for 500. That is a cost of about $1.05 per #6 turnout. You can also buy their 'QuickSticks' for $7.50 per turnout where the ties come in a pre-cut group that will work under the turnout. Your choice. By cutting my own PCB ties, shown ( HERE ) and using the individual ties, which I personally like the looks of better, I can make a turnout for less than $4.00.
You can find out more about the fixture used above ( HERE ) and the print files ( HERE ).
NOTE: One more way a 3D printer can save you money on the layout.
