--- Harbor Freight 99701 Motorcycle Rear Stand ---
Our V-Strom didn't have a centerstand when we bought it used. I considered getting one but decided to first purchase a rear motorcycle stand to use when servicing the bike and see how that would work out.
A Harbor Freight Low Profile Spool Motorcycle Stand, part #99701 at the time, was purchased for under $40.
I had planned on turning some spools for it on the lathe but instead just inserted some hex head screws into the threaded holes on the bottom side of the swingarm. So far they have worked just fine.
I had just installed Givi TN532 Engine Guards/Crash Bars and they came with screws that replace ones already on the bike. The ones I removed during the crash bar install were the right size so used them.
l have not tried getting the bike up on the stand by myself but with Dottie holding the bike it goes up easy....
... and is very stable once up. I'm happy with the stand and for now no plans on installing a centerstand on the bike.
