The following transmission gear sets are part of the sale:

NOTE: You can see how adaptable the transmission is and how to use the gear sets on the second page ( HERE ) and

a link to G-Force's ratio selection chart ( HERE ).

Note that the 101 transmission is a 4 speed with the normal 4th gear being 1 to 1 and straight through. Gears 1, 2 and 3 can be many different ratios and 3rd can be an overdrive gear. If that is the case then the 1:1 4th gear becomes 3rd gear and the overdrive 3rd becomes 4th. You can setup the shifter so that it still shifts normally.

Besides different ratios for 1st, 2nd and 3rd there are different ratios for the 'Drive Gears'. The drive gear on the transmission's input shaft drives the cluster shaft drive gear along with the cluster shaft and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cluster shaft gears. Changing the ratio of the drive gears moves the other gears either higher or lower.

The choice of drive gears can also help with choosing a rear differential or changing to a different one. Using a different set of transmission drive gears can make one differential with one set of gears similar to another with a different gear set in the overall ratio of the drivetrain.

The G-Force ratio selection chart ( HERE ) gives you the final drive ratios. It is a little confusing at first so take your time with it or give me a shout (sumner-1 (at) 1fatgmc (dot) com. The gears with an 's' associated with them have to stay in the set they are in.

------------------------- G-Force 101A Clutchless vs. Clutch Assisted ----------------------------------

The 101 is a very strong transmission capable of transmitting well over 1000 HP on the salt. This is the 'clutch assisted' version but we shifted it without the clutch all the time. We were told that you don't want the 'clutchless' version. It is built for the drag strip where you want it to more or less pop easily out of gear going to the next gear as you run WOT down the course. On the salt where you can be in and out of the throttle and don't run WOT at all times you don't want it popping out of gear. The 'clutch assisted' transmission is what we want for the salt.
