The house batteries were shot on the Endeavour from the day of purchase, but were at least in the boat to be used as trade-ins. The start battery was newer and had been used to power the bilge pumps while the boat was in the yard to take care of nuisance rain water.
The battery box was not in real good shape and oversized in regards to providing a snug fit for the 4 Trojan T-105 6 volt batteries that make up the house bank.
New pieces were cut out of marine plywood and cedar to strengthen the battery box and for a better fit for the batteries.
Above we can see the new pieces in place. The area is much stronger now and the batteries fit better.
A combiner was going to be mounted to the right of the battery box so the area shown was beefed up to support the piece that the combiner will mount on.
Dottie took over the job of staining and clear coating the new pieces.

Four new Trojan T-105 6 volt batteries were installed in January of 2018 for the house bank.
To the left above are two 6 volt batteries wired in series for 12 volts and the same with the two to the right. The two banks are also wired together full time resulting in two 12 volt banks. The positive to the loads and the charging sources is connected to the bottom right battery's positive post and the negative is connected the the top left battery's negative post for better equalization of the two banks of 6 volt batteries. There are wires between both banks that connects them in parallel.
