(There are a number of items that are with the boat that could be sold if one wanted to (spare outboard, Sailrite Sewing Machine & others. If you thing the price is high take a honest look at what comes with the boat and what has been done to it. Putting the cost of labor aside for a moment I don't think you could buy another Mac that is on the market and bring it up to what this boat has for anywhere near the asking price. Then throw in the hundreds of hours to complete the modifications and you begin to realize what you will be getting. A boat that has been highly customized for serious cruising and you don't have to spend years trying to create something similar.)

........We are cruisers and this boat has been heavily modified for extended, reliable cruising,
........maybe more than any other MacGregor 26. If your goal is extended cruising please
........take the time to look at our boat. At 79 my sailing days have come to an end but if I was
younger I'd be taking the Mac back to the Bahamas.
........The Mac is an extremely flexible sailboat. With the trailer mods that have been made it is
........easy to tow long distances, easy to launch and retrieve. Sails well in all winds and with
........the swing keel and swing rudder can go into waters with depths under 24 inches. We've
........taken the boat to Utah, Idaho, Canada, Wyoming, Colorado and Florida twice. On one trip to
........Florida I single handed it 1300 miles to the Bahamas and back on a 3 month trip.
...... .Before getting fixated on the price take a look at all the cruising mods that have been made.
.. ...If you are only looking for a boat to put in the water and day sail this might not be the boat
for you but if you are not a marina person and want to sail to those isolated places and have
extended trips in mind I doubt you will find a boat that is better prepared.
For a nice idea of how well the boat sails take a look at the video ( HERE ). The boat was fully
loaded for my single-handed trip to the Bahamas with the dingy in tow and with a friend and
his dog along for a day sail before continuing on. If you let the boat heel over a bit it will settle
in and sail like it is on rails.

plotter shown in the boat build is not included in the sale of the boat. There
might be some other items shown in the boat build pages on the internet that
are also not included. If you want to make sure something is included please
ask. The following mods were also done over the years I owned the boat.
Some are newer and fresher and others need refreshing. Again ask if you
need more info.
Note: The two 12 volt batteries for the trolling motor that can also be used as additional
house power need to be replace. The two 6 volt batteries are still taking a charge
but are quite old now so I'd also consider replacing them. The AM/FM radio/cassette
player in the overhead does not work.
