Test Track Menu ---
==========================================
It
costs me a couple hundred each year to keep this site on the
Internet.
===========================================
Before
starting my layout I decided to make a test track for the purpose of
testing/running loco's that I bought with either a DC throttle or a
DCC (DCC++EX) throttle. I also wanted the option to program DCC
loco's.
I
could of built a simple loop track but also decided to add some of
the hand-made turnouts I had been building. This gave me the
opportunity to use them and test what I had been doing before using
others on a larger layout. I could also test the various
options I had come up with for turnout control.
As
a further test-bed I would gain experience using a foam layout
surface, laying cork, track and doing wiring. All good endeavors to
learn before starting on the larger layout. I wasn't going to post
this work since there are so many examples of it on the internet but
then decide that some of what I learned might also help someone else
starting out so hopefully what follows will be of some help to
someone.
