Finally the weather pattern that had been dominate moved back north and formed the first tropical low of the year, Ana. Ana didn't effect us except now we would return to more normal trade winds with still a chance of squalls or thunderstorms but if they materialize they shouldn't be a strong as those that had been in the area.

I wanted to make a stop at Black Point for at least a few hours if not for the night. I left Little Farmers and couldn't believe that I had a light wind on the nose so things weren't quite back to the easterly trades yet. I motored north and ....

... passed White Point, above, on Great Guana Cay and ....

... then about a mile or so before making the turn to starboard into black point passed the building above and the sailboat on the beach there.

The building is marked 'castle' on the chart and looks like one. I don't have any other info on it.

The sailboat was a fairly large one and I don't know if it was a victim of the squall that hit the area a few days previous or not. I don't remember either the boat or the house from the trip south past here but I was a fair ways further off shore on the trip down and the conditions also were much worst and I was pretty occupied at the time with them.

Once I arrived at Black Point I anchored not far from the town dock and was the closest boat to it. I wanted to run ashore with trash as I still had all of the trash, well compacted, on the boat from when I left the yard almost two months prior. I still had water also from when I left but wanted to fill some of the empty 4 gallon containers so that I could use more water than I had for things like washing and rinsing if I went in for a swim. I arrived just before noon and figured if I could finish with these chores by 1:30 or so that I might move further north and then reconsidered and decided to take the trash ashore and get the water and take a short walk and then relax and catch up with things on the Internet as before I never had Internet north of here.

The picture above is pretty self-explanatory as to getting water and dumping trash. This was about the only place on the trip were you could dump trash for free. They do have a box on the front of the trailer where you can insert a donation and I did. Most places it is $5.00 per grocery bag and up to $25 for additional bags. The moral of that story is to compact cans and everything and you will find that you can get a lot of trash into a bag. Probably about 5-10 times more than what you put in the same bag at home.

There were a lot less boats in the anchorage vs. when I was going south but still maybe 20 or so.

A couple more pictures of the ....

... houses and such that line the shore around the bay here.

Also another one of the laundry and its dock if you need to do a cloths washing. I'd been hand washing cloths and bedding on the boat so skipped doing it here again.

I was able to talk to Martin some back down at Little Farmer on the radio but didn't feel that we would meet again on this trip as he was still waiting to pickup his sister and her friend the next day and I'd be moving north probably faster than they would. When we were there we found out that if they had three passengers on a flight they would fly you from Nassau to Little Farmers any day and you didn't have to wait until Friday. When he found that out he was going to see if they could come in on Thursday as they arrived in Nassau on Wed. and and paying $100 for an extra, unused seat, was probably cheaper than another night staying in Nassau. Those plans fell apart when the Batelco tower got hit by lightning at Little Farmers and he couldn't contact his sister via the Internet. Still it is something to remember if you get in a situation where you are having someone fly in to meet you.
